Latest Rasmussen Poll: Senator Cornyn 55% - Noriega 40%

I know that I have been gone for a long time now, but I felt it important to stress something.

Some people have been noting the relatively close polls between Rick Noriega and Senator John Cornyn here lately. The newest Rasmussen poll has Senator Cornyn leading Noriega by 15 points...hardly all that close.

Incumbent Cornyn Opens Big Lead in Texas

Republican Senator from Texas John Cornyn has opened a fifteen point lead over challenger Rick Noriega in his bid for re-election. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds the incumbent leading 55% to 40%.

The latest poll is good news for Cornyn, who watched his lead slip to seven in September after leading by double digits in all previous polls since May. The senator is seeking his second term.

Cars Are Too Quiet ?!?

It appears that our cars are getting too quiet. The House is considering a bill that would set a minimum sound level for vehicles because if they are too quiet, they apparently pose a risk to blind people and pedestrians. A bill like this has already passed in Maryland. Link

UT's laser reaches temperatures hotter than those found at the center of the sun. It is also more that 2000 times more powerful than the entire output of all US power plans, if only for one trillionth of a second.

In other news...the University of Texas at Austin has aimed its laser beam at the University of Oklahoma and is requesting a ransom of... 100 Billion Dollars.

Victory in Run-off Elections for Conservatives

In the TX-22 race, Pete Olson handedly defeated Shelley Sekula Gibbs by over 35 points.

In District 52, Bryan Daniel squeaked by Dee Hobbs. Daniel will do a marvelous job and we need to make sure that he wins the general election in November.

In District 55, Ralph Sheffield Martha Tyroch, who you may recall is a little less than responsible with tax-payer money. Tyroch and a Hard Place

In District 144, Ken Legler edged by Fred Roberts. Good job Ken, those are some big shoes to fill.

Overall, it was a pretty good run-off election. Let's carry some of this momentum into the November general election.
